Abhinav is part of the Video Infra leadership team at Meta, focusing on scaling live video and building new engagement capabilities for videos across Meta family of apps and VR devices. Previously, he has worked on video platforms at AWS, Twitch, and Adobe Flash and built VR graphics and communication software, back when it would take supercomputers to run VR environments and immersive displays that would cost 100 times more than they do today.

Spencer is a two-time Technology and Engineering Emmy winner, system architect, technologist, entrepreneur, and member of engineering leadership teams for pioneering products in the digital television and consumer electronics industry. Lead engineer for the world’s first DVR at ReplayTV, for Netflix’s streaming service, for Pluto TV’s Free Ad Supported Television service, and now a member of the Streaming Technology Leadership Team at Paramount Streaming in my role as SVP Architecture.

Matthew Scharr is a seasoned software engineering leader currently serving as Senior Software Development Manager at AWS Elemental. He leads the engineering team behind MediaTailor, a service that enables server-side ad insertion and linear channel assembly for video streaming platforms. With over nine years at AWS, Matt has played a key role in scaling personalized ad experiences and supporting major live events like Thursday Night Football through his earlier work with Amazon Prime Video. His background spans software development and technical program management, with a strong focus on delivering reliable, high-scale media technology solutions.

Jeremy is a video streaming expert with experience in SSAI/DAI, OTT playback, and automated video workflows. Skilled in monetizing live and on-demand content through client- and server-side advertising, Jeremy has architected end-to-end delivery systems that span broadcast, transcoding, CDN, CMS, automation, advertising, and analytics. With a focus on consistent cross-platform user experiences.

Jessica Powell is the CEO and co-founder of AudioShake. Prior to AudioShake, she was a VP at Google and served on the company's management team.

Wei Li is a Senior Principal Scientist at Wyze Labs, where he leads innovations in computer vision and smart home AI. With expertise spanning face recognition, object tracking, 3D facial reconstruction, emotion recognition, and point‑cloud body animation, Wei has been instrumental in building intelligent AI-driven video analysis systems for millions of devices.

Before Wyze, he served as an Applied Scientist at Amazon, contributing to advanced vision–language research. Wei earned his Ph.D. at the City College of New York and now tackles real-world challenges like working on vision-language model development and deployment across Wyze's 10+ million households.

Hanna Figueiredo Mariano is a Lead Software Engineer at Nubank, where she has been working for the past 6 years, focusing on Clojure and Datomic. Before that, she worked with Java. Over the last year, she joined the Datomic team at Nubank, where, in addition to other responsibilities, she also provides internal Datomic training. She lives in São Paulo with her boyfriend and four cats and enjoys traveling and eating.

Kiran Patel is a Senior Product Manager at AWS, working across AWS Elemental Media Service that help customers build scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective media workflows. Prior to joining AWS, Kiran worked with the BBC as Executive Product Manager for live streaming and VOD workflows for their News, Sport, and iPlayer products. He has over 25 years, or 13 Olympics worth (Sydney to Paris) of experience working with OTT video.

Rushaan Mahajan is the co-founder and CEO of Sima Labs, where he's focused on improving video quality and reducing delivery costs for both natural and GenAI-generated video. A serial entrepreneur with one successful acquisition in the education tech space, Rushaan specializes in scaling cutting-edge research from proof-of-concept to production at scale.

Sophie Raniwala is the co-founder and CTO of Sima Labs. A deep learning specialist with a background in Computer Science from Stanford, she has published frontier research in IEEE on ultra-lightweight neural networks for complex computer vision challenges like domain adaptation and super-resolution. Sophie’s work also explores advanced fine-tuning techniques including LoRA and active learning, pushing the boundaries of efficient AI.

Jordi Cenzano is an engineer specializing in broadcast and online media. He is currently working on the media inference pipeline at Meta. He previously worked as a director of engineering at Brightcove, Inc., Boston, MA, and was a principal architect of Brightcove Live streaming workflow. For over 20 years, he has been working in the media space, starting on the broadcast side, and moving to the online media. He holds an MS degree in information and communication technologies and a BS degree in telecommunications from Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, Spain, in 2013 and 1997, respectively.

Shankar Regunathan develops advanced techniques for video quality measurement, encoding optimization, and large-scale processing of user-generated content at Meta. He previously worked on video codecs at Microsoft and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara. Shankar is a repeat @Scale speaker and has authored multiple patents and award-winning research in video compression.

James Hurley is a Principal Software Engineer at Twitch (Amazon IVS), where he leads the development of real-time video and WebRTC infrastructure powering millions of concurrent streams. With over a decade in live video engineering, he's driven breakthroughs such as on-device super-resolution, showcasing real-time Video Super Resolution using WebGPU at industry events.

Tim Harris is an Engineering Manager at Meta, where he leads efforts on large-scale video infrastructure to support billions of streams. He was instrumental in deploying xHE‑AAC audio streaming, bringing adaptive bitrate and loudness normalization at scale to Meta’s product ecosystem. Outside Meta, Tim serves as Chair of the Alliance for Open Media’s Audio Codec Working Group, helping shape the future of open, immersive audio standards.

Qi Cai is a Researcher at Meta’s Media Foundation, specializing in scalable video super-resolution, auto-dubbing, and AI-powered video evaluation. He has authored numerous publications in top-tier conferences and journals on video compression and intelligent media processing, and his work has contributed to advancing AI-driven tools for global content delivery.

Ryan (Zhijun) Lei is a Software Engineer and Video Codec Specialist on the Video Infrastructure team at Meta. He spearheaded the rollout of AV1 encoding and delivery for Facebook and Instagram Reels, enabling higher-quality, bandwidth-efficient video experiences across billions of users. More recently, Ryan contributed to integrating super-resolution and advanced AV1 encoding into Meta's Restyle tool. He also co-chairs the AOMedia Codec Testing Subgroup, shaping next-generation royalty-free video standards.

Connie specializes in building large-scale, globally distributed systems. Running WBD's multi-CDN platform to provide an immersive, uninterrupted user experience while maintaining superior viewing quality, she puts a special focus on operational excellence allowing for real-time monitoring and proactive issue resolution ensuring every part of the content delivery lifecycle, from ingestion to playback, is meticulously optimized for both performance and cost-efficiency. By factoring cost considerations alongside performance, Connie has consistently delivered solutions that balance high-quality media delivery with efficient resource utilization, enabling clients to scale effortlessly while minimizing overheads.

Emmy Award-winning post-production veteran, Joshua Lamb has spent over two decades shaping the future of film, television, and streaming. From launching the Oprah Winfrey Network and FOX Sports networks to building post-production infrastructure for Red Bull TV and Amazon Prime Video, Joshua has worked with some of the biggest names in media, including Warner Brothers, NBCUniversal, and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. When he’s not innovating in the editing room, you’ll find him exploring the mountains with a camera in hand.

Nick Wu is a research scientist at Meta with extensive experience in image and video coding, streaming, and multimedia understanding. His work spans low‑latency interactive video/audio streaming, graphics systems, virtualization, and cross‑platform development across iOS, Android, and desktop environments. Nick has published 19 technical papers and holds deep expertise in video processing techniques such as denoising, transcoding, and error concealment, along with contributions to Android OS and graphics stacks on Linux and Windows.

With over 25 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Lionel Bringuier has held leadership positions at AWS Elemental, Video, and Anevia (now part of ATEME) before joining Momento. During his career, he was directly responsible for the launch of several mission-critical products and services, including AWS Elemental MediaPackage, Elemental Delta, Videon LiveEdge Max, and LiveEdge Cloud, as well as the suite of Anevia products that pioneered the OTT video distribution market in 2009/2010.

Allen comes from over a decade of experience working in the public sector tech industry where he played a key role in advancing the adoption of modern technology in the space. Allen drives API-first development and pushes for best-in-class developer experience for customers. When he’s not talking about serverless, you can find Allen tending to his homestead.
